Lure – Whitsunday Events

Bringing the ‘Lure effect’ to visitors and resident of the Whitsunday region has been a key focus for the team at Lure this year. Since Lure is the newest venue in Airlie Beach and the Whitsunday region, showcasing the contemporary design and relaxed atmosphere of the venue to advocates of the Whitsundays has been an absolute pleasure.

We started the year with an open day where the public were invited to come to Lure, enjoy a drink on the expansive waterfront balcony and speak with the team about our vision for the future. Industry representatives from the wedding and conference sectors attended, as well as couples looking for a fresh, new venue in which to make their Whitsunday wedding dreams a reality.

Trivia Night with Australian Trivia Master

Bringing his unique brand of trivia to the Whitsunday region in September this year, was the one and only Jason Montgomery – Australia Trivia Master. Combining his own style of entertainment and humour with an innovative trivia format, Jason had the crowd involved and the tears of laughter flowing.

Guests were welcomed with a complimentary drink, followed by three very different trivia rounds. Extended canapes were served throughout the evening and the winning teams walked away with some sensational prizes. With a guaranteed evening of hilarious entertainment, be sure to watch out for Jason’s return to Lure in 2017.

Celebrity Chef Feast

Bringing together some incredible local and regional chefs for an evening of fine wine and great food, Lure’s inaugural Chef Feast was a huge success. Showcasing a seven course degustation menu served with matching wine, by Phillip Shaw Winery, the evening was a sell out.

Whitsunday foodies came from far and wide to experience the gastronomic delights on the menu, as well as the live master class cooking demonstration. Featuring local chefs Kev Collins (Fish D’vine) and Rod Ramsay (Ramsay’s on the run) as well as guest chefs Ben Williamson (Gerard’s Bistro) and Chloe Bowles (MasterChef Australia) – the menu was perfectly designed and meticulously executed.
