Getting Here


Situated on Queensland’s central coats, approximately 1120km from Brisbane and 630km south of Cairns, the Whitsundays comprises of 74 magnificent tropical islands, three with operational resorts and the adjacent mainland coast is centred around the tourist hub if Airlie Beach.

Whitsunday Coast Airport (PPP)


Whitsunday Coast Airport is located in Proserpine, approximately 30 minutes to Airlie Beach. The airport is serviced by Virgin and Jetstar offering daily flights from Brisbane with direct connecting flights from Melbourne, Sydney, Perth and Adelaide. TigerAir offer direct flights from Sydney three times per week, with this increasing to five times per week from 1 March 2017. TigerAir will also introduce a direct service from Brisbane in early 2017 providing unprecedented access to the Whitsunday Coast and Airlie Beach.

Buses and taxis meet every flight to transfer guests to Airlie Beach, or to ferries to the island resorts. Car and limousine hire is also available at the airport. We can recommend some quality transfer providers, so please get in contact with the Lure event team for more information.

Great Barrier Reef Airport (HTI)


Located on Hamilton Island, the airport is serviced by Virgin Australia, Jetstar and Qantas Link with daily flights from Cairns, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and connection points beyond. Cruise Whitsundays operates ferries from Hamilton Island to transfer passengers to Airlie Beach.
