Lure is able to cater for an intimate wedding for 25 people or even less, a seated reception for 160 or a cocktail celebration for 250. Our magnificent waterfront balcony is also the perfect spot for a one & only long table set up.
Only one wedding is held at our private and exclusive venue per day, so your special day will be YOUR special day!!
Lure is usually available from 5.00pm on the day of your wedding to ensure your reception starts before sunset, the best time to enjoy the beautiful scenery. Unlike most venues which have a 10.00 pm lock-out, our licensed venue is open up to midnight (more time to dance on the Compass dancefloor!)
A venue coordinator will be on-site available for support throughout your wedding day. During the planning process, our team can recommend third party suppliers i.e. cake designer, florists etc. If you need further assistance to arrange all the details of your dream day, we highly recommend you engage the services of a wedding planner to ensure the day runs seamlessly. They will liaise with all the vendors on your behalf and act as a general overseer.
There is no need to sweat on your big day… We have an abundance of air-conditioning inside the venue, in the doorways and even in the ladies bathrooms. There are ceiling fans on the balcony to compliment the natural sea breeze.
The Whitsundays offer a fantastic choice of suppliers, for all aspects of your wedding – cakes, makeup, florists, entertainment, celebrants etc. We do have a recommended supplier’s list to share with all our couples, however you are most welcome to use any suppliers not on our list. Upon acceptance of the quote provided to you, we will issue an invoice for a deposit. Payment must be received within fourteen days of the invoice issue date in order to secure your booking. A second payment will be required three months before your wedding. A third and final invoice will be issued two weeks before your reception to enable last adjustments in regards to food and drink fees and additional services you might request.
You can say ‘I do’ in a choice of locations. Your guests will enjoy the romantic backdrop of Abell Point Marina whether you choose the balcony at Lure or the marina foreshore area. Say your wedding vows on the foredeck of a luxury yacht, at the nearby Shingley Beach or helicopter out to Whitehaven Beach and exchange vows with your toes in the sand. Due for completion in mid 2017, our 2.5 hectare private parkland facility will be available to all our couples and will offer guests of Lure exclusive access to our wedding pavilion. All our wedding reception packages include tables, chairs, linen, tableware, silverware and glassware. We are here to ensure your wedding reception is just as you want it to be. Once your booking is confirmed, our wedding stylist will contact you to assist with personalizing your wedding decor options and work with you to realise your wedding vision.
Lure has an exclusive caterer offering a selection of delicious menus to suit the most discerning of guests, so we are unable to permit any self-catering options. All food is made in our state-of-the-art kitchen with professional chefs being on-site throughout the wedding reception. You are welcome to provide your own wedding cake. As part of our complete reception service, we will display, plate and serve it to your wedding guests at no extra charge – we even include a berry coulis and King Island double cream as an accompaniment and a box to take home the remainder of the cake at the end of the reception.
Our beverage packages are based on a specific time-frame (i.e. 3 hour package), not a quantity per person, so all your guests should be happy. Bar and wait staff are included in your wedding reception package. Licensing laws prevent BYO beverages to the venue. Looking to get the family up for the samba or conga at your wedding reception? Lure has the most stunning dancefloor you will ever experience, the Compass dancefloor. Located in the centre of the venue and with a stunning view out over the marina, this is the perfect place to get your dancing shoes on and let loose. We also have plenty of room for a DJ or band to setup, should you require one.
If you wish to enjoy your own music iPods and laptops can hook into our system very easily and your music can be controlled by our venue coordinator. We also supply wireless microphones for the speeches at no additional cost.
Our lift service will ensure that all guests – from the very young to the elderly and the disabled – will access your wedding with ease.
Lure is a child friendly venue however being a second floor venue in a marina complex, we do ask that all children are supervised at all times. Our children’s menu is very popular with the younger guests.
Lure’s location at Abell Point Marina provides excellent access to a range of accommodation options. We work very closely with a range of accommodation providers and will be able to make some recommendations dependent on your requirements. We have two main car park. Both car parks are pay and display, where you drive in select your bay go to the pay machine located in that car park and follow the instructions on the machine. You pay for the period you will be staying and the machine will give you a ticket to display on your dashboard.
A supplier meal is $50 pp inclusive of unlimited soft drinks, tea and coffee.
At Lure, there are no hidden costs. The set up, pack down and cleaning are included in our packages. Depending on number of guests, the venue coordinator may decide to arrange security at the door at no extra cost for you.
